zpfile000The 34th Reigate (Meadvale) Explorer Unit had five Explorers go to Windsor and meet the Queen and TV star and Chief Scout Bear Grylls. The Queen Scout award is the highest award in Scouting and the Explorers had spent two years achieving the award. They have completed hikes in Dorset and the New Forest for four days and three nights walking over 60 miles and completing project working with the National trust for a week on Headley Heath. They have taken part in International trips including Switzerland and France and learnt new skills in self defence, martial arts , football coaching, learning to play a new musical instrument to helping at Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. The Explorers learnt to march in the barracks at Windsor in the morning before doing a march past her Majesty the Queen in the castle before going to a special ceremony for St Gorges Day in St Georges Chapel.

Euan Tilling of the 6th Reigate Scout Group also attended Windsor having completed his Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award and the Queens Scout Award.
